The orientation program to engage in community legal education and advice for the most vulnerable across the 25 districts of Sri Lanka for newly recruited young lawyers & law students offered by the Centre for the Study of Human Rights (CSHR), Faculty of Law, University of Colombo was held on July 22 & 23, 2023, at the SLFI. The Director of the CSHR & Professor (Chair) of Public & International law Wasantha Seneviratne, Deputy Director of the CSHR Mr. Hakeem Abubakar, Team staffs of the CSHR JURE project, were all present at the event & UNDP staff present at the event via zoom. Dr.Visakesa Chandrasekaram, Director of the Legal Aid Unit trained them on community legal awareness raising.
A total of 45 lawyers & law students were participated by representing all the districts of Sri Lanka.
