“As a PhD student from the University of Amsterdam, I was highly and positively SURPRISED to find a solid collection of newspaper cuttings on exactly the topic I am studying. I’ll certainly come back to this spirited place. . .”
“ . . . I found the Centre a very relaxing and easy place to work- flawlessly organised, with all the materials I needed grouped together in an accessible way. My only limitation here was not being able to read Sinhala or Tamil! The newspaper clips grouped by topic were particularly useful and a great way of filing this data. . .”
“One of the key modes of disseminating knowledge in any given society is to provide access to reading material on subjects that are useful to humans. Gaining knowledge of Human Rights is vital in the contemporary world as people should be aware of their rights and freedoms in order to be able to stand for such rights. In this sense, the services rendered by the Library at Centre for the Study of Human Rights (CSHR-Library) are invaluable; this Library is undoubtedly one of the best libraries in Sri Lanka, which is dedicated to human rights promotion and education. It provides access to a wide range of text books, commentaries, scholarly articles, magazines, etc. on related subjects including human rights, democracy, human rights law, international humanitarian law and constitutional law, that have proven to be very useful to the students of tertiary education as well to researchers and academics who are engaged in the fields of human rights and democracy. CSHR-Library is well equipped with all the essential facilities and has an approachable staff that is dedicated to maintaining high standards. And, I take this opportunity to wish CSHR-Library and its staff all the very best in its future endeavours.”
